Please, chant and dance!

propagated kirtan harinam

This is kirtan: we don’t just sit around; bhajam is very nice, very meditative; our kirtans are, our harinams… they are simply meant, for one thing: is to encourage everyone to chant the holy names and to dance in ecstasy: that’s something; if you’re sitting down, you don’t quite get so why harinam is this congregational chant that was started right here in Sridam Mayapur by Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu himself; so we are simply following in those amazing footsteps that he has created here, trying to keep this spiritual energy of chanting Hare Krishna, keep it alive, so it spreads throughout, because when people arrive here in Sridham Mayapur, guests arrive, they’re not expecting to chant Hare Krishna, but the sound vibration of the Hare Krishna starts over again, the sound vibration of the Hare Krishna Mantra enters into them, it enters into the devotees chanting, and it enters into the guests who are just observing; later becoming active participants and that is the goal of Harinam Sankirtan; is to encourage everyone: “please, chant this Hare Krishna Mantra, don’t just hear it, don’t just observe it, but chant it, chant and dance, and that’s what Mayapur Harinam is all about together.

“we don’t just sit around: dance in ecstasy!”
